Ghosts Wear Clothes Album Artwork Competition

On Monday's show, we announced a competition that Ghosts Wear Clothes are running to find artwork for use on their album cover. Over to the boys:

"As many of you are aware we're currently recording our debut album, Threads. As we are a diverse and experimental band we wanted to bring the same attitude into the artwork, so we have decided to run an international competition. We've left this brief as vague as possible to allow room for your own artistic interp...retation. There are six panels up for grabs and, though you are more than welcome to submit multiple entries, no more than one piece of artwork will be used from any single artist. All artwork submitted to us will be exhibited on our website gallery (www.ghostswearclothes.co.uk/gallery) with appropriate links to the respective entrant's own website. Closing date for this competition will be the 28th Febraury 2011.

What we're basically looking for is a fusion of abstract and neo-surrealist imagery. While a main, eye-catching element to the artwork is fine - even desired - we'd really like artwork which incorporates large open space to good effect: landscapes as opposed to portraits. In terms of tone, we prefer dark images that retain some level of beauty, with stripped down colour palette. Attached are some examples of artwork we, as a band, are inspired by: the George Grie digital paintings in terms of the use of wide open space, and the other, more focused surrealist images in terms of tone.

NB: As this artwork is potentially destined for an album cover/booklet, images will have to be edited to fit this format. As a result we'd prefer that important elements of artwork submitted not stray too far into the margins.
